A few things before you dig in

Good questions.
Real answers.

About the records, the earrings, and making something yours. Start here—or send me a note if your question needs a little more conversation.

01 / The making

The Records + The Making

Are these made from real vinyl records?

Yes. I turn damaged or unplayable records into earrings, ornaments, artwork, and keepsakes. The original grooves and label become part of the finished piece.

Do you cut up good records?

I don’t cut good, playable records from my collection. My work gives damaged or unplayable vinyl another life. If you’re supplying a record for a custom project, we’ll discuss the record and your wishes before anything is cut.

How and where are the pieces made?

I make them by hand at my bench in Philadelphia. Each piece is cut, shaped, filed, drilled, finished, and assembled using jewelry tools. No lasers or heat.

Are the pieces one of a kind?

Every cut has its own combination of grooves, label artwork, lettering, and placement. I may make a shape again or work from another copy of a record, but an exact duplicate isn’t always possible.

Will I know which record my earrings came from?

Yes. Your reVinyled earring card includes the available source-record details, so the music’s story stays with the pair.

02 / Your earrings

Choosing Your Earrings

What are the ear wires and posts made from?

I use stainless steel ear wires and posts. Clear silicone stoppers are included with dangle earrings. Check the individual listing for additional materials, especially on metal accent styles.

Are they lightweight?

Vinyl is lightweight, but the size and construction affect how a pair feels. Check the measurements and weight provided in the listing, especially when choosing a larger statement pair.

How do I choose a size?

Use the measurements in the individual listing as your guide. Shapes in the same size category can have different lengths and widths. Compare them with a pair you already enjoy wearing, or ask me for help.

Can I have the artist’s name or song title visible?

Tell me what you’d like to see. The lettering is part of the original record label, so what fits depends on its size, position, the shape, and the usable vinyl. A wider or larger cut may offer more room, but I’ll need to check the actual record before confirming readable words.

Can you make another pair from the same artist?

Possibly. Browse the available earrings or send a request through Request Studio. I’ll check the records and discuss what can be made. Another record by the same artist may have different label colors, lettering, and song titles.

Does the listing show the exact pair I’ll receive?

Yes. Current ready-to-ship product listings show the actual piece or pair you’ll receive. When a listing includes front and back views, those are different views of the same pair. Any future made-to-order listing will be clearly identified and will explain when photographs are examples rather than the exact piece.

03 / Care

Care

How should I care for my jewelry?

Store it in a cool, dry place. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, heat, swimming, showering, and soaking. Keep perfume, lotions, hairspray, and harsh cleaners away from the vinyl and label. Wipe gently with a soft microfiber cloth.

What if my piece needs attention?

Email leah@revinyled.com with a photo and a description of the issue. I’ll take a look and let you know what may be possible. Any repair options and costs will depend on the piece.

04 / 45 Library

The 45 Library + Collectors

What is the 45 Record Library?

It’s a searchable selection of the in-stock 7-inch 45s I’ve cataloged from my working collection. It helps you explore the artists and songs that could become a custom piece. My 12-inch LP collection isn’t cataloged there yet.

Why do I need a Collector account to browse the full library?

A free My reVinyled account opens the full 45 Library and helps me keep track of the records you’re interested in when we plan an order. Knowing what you’re looking for also helps me shape what comes next for reVinyled.

Does finding a record mean I can order any design from it?

Finding it is a starting point. The remaining usable vinyl, label placement, shape, and size determine what I can make. Use Ask About This 45 to send your idea; I’ll review it before we confirm a design, price, and timing.

What if I can’t find my artist or song?

You can still send a request. Use the request option in the library or go to Request Studio and tell me what you have in mind. You don’t need a Collector account to submit a custom inquiry.

05 / Custom designs

Custom Work + Meaningful Gifts

What kinds of custom pieces can I request?

You can request any of my existing custom template designs, or bring me an idea for something new. That includes earrings, ornaments, framed artwork, silhouettes, initials, meaningful years, and more. If you’ve seen a design in my photos or past work, tell me which one or upload a reference in Request Studio. We can discuss your music, size, background, and other details as they apply to the piece. I’ll confirm what’s possible with the available records before we agree on the design, price, and timing. You don’t need every detail worked out before getting in touch.

Can I supply my own record?

Yes. Choose that option in Request Studio and tell me about it. We’ll discuss the record, design, and next steps before you send anything.

Can you find a particular album for me?

I can check my collection and make an initial availability check. Newer or sought-after albums can be harder to find damaged or at a reasonable price. If sourcing is needed, I’ll discuss the cost and options with you first. An extended search would need an agreed budget and deposit. You can also source a record yourself and arrange to send it to me.

Can I include personal items in custom artwork?

Yes—tell me about concert tickets, snapshots, newspaper clippings, maps, keepsakes, or an old concert T-shirt you’d like incorporated. You can upload reference photos or share a photo link. Background ideas can include an available album cover, a background you supply, or custom artwork I create. We’ll discuss what works and what to send before you mail anything.

Can you make something for a birthday, wedding, or memorial?

Yes. Music can make a thoughtful connection to a person, place, or memory. Include the occasion and any hoped-for date in your inquiry. I’ll confirm what’s possible based on the design, records, and current schedule.

Does sending a custom request place an order?

No. It starts a conversation. I’ll review your idea and follow up about possibilities, pricing, and timing. The request itself doesn’t reserve a record or confirm an order.

06 / Orders + gifts

Orders, Shipping + Gifts

When will my order ship?

Ready-to-ship orders dispatch within 2–3 business days after purchase. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. This is the packing and dispatch window; carrier delivery time is additional. Timing for custom and made-to-order work is confirmed individually before you place the order.

Where do you ship, and what does it cost?

Shipping options and costs are shown at checkout, where you can choose your preferred available service for your delivery address.

Can I add a gift message?

Yes. I’m happy to include a complimentary gift note for an individual item and ship directly to the recipient. Tell me which item is the gift and what you’d like its note to say. Enter the recipient’s address as the shipping address. Each order ships to one address; gifts going to different addresses need separate orders. If you need help adding those details, email leah@revinyled.com with your order number before the order ships.

What if my order arrives damaged?

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, email leah@revinyled.com promptly with your order number and photos of the piece and packaging. Please report visible damage within seven days of delivery if possible and keep the packaging while we work out the next steps. A later report does not automatically exclude a genuine defect. I cover necessary shipping and arrange an appropriate repair, replacement, or refund. This applies to custom pieces too.

What is your return or exchange policy?

For a change-of-mind return of a ready-made piece, email leah@revinyled.com within 14 days of delivery. After approval, mail it back within seven days using tracked shipping. Pieces must be unworn, unused, unaltered, and returned with their original card and protective packaging. Worn earrings are not eligible for change-of-mind returns.

You pay return shipping, and original shipping charges are not refunded for change-of-mind returns. There is no restocking fee. After receiving and inspecting an eligible return, I process a refund of the item price actually paid to the original payment method within five business days. Your payment provider may take additional time to post it.

Because each piece is limited, exchanges are handled as a return and a separate purchase. Regular discounts follow this policy; any final-sale exception will be clearly identified before purchase. Gifts follow the same return window unless a separate holiday extension is announced.

Custom and personalized pieces are not eligible for change-of-mind returns once the agreed design has been made. Design, price, timing, and cancellation/deposit terms are confirmed in writing before payment. Damaged, defective, or incorrect items are handled separately, including custom pieces.

Who do I contact with another question?

Email leah@revinyled.com. For a new custom idea, Request Studio helps me collect the details in one place.
